Really use feedback you get from your teachers to improve future work. If you don’t act on it and apply it to your next piece of work both getting and giving feedback becomes a waste of time.
So, go through each essay feedback you get back and make sure you understand it all – teachers don’t mind if you come back to them to clarify things. Then think about how you could improve on the weaknesses that the feedback shows – for example: Do you need to check how the referencing system you are supposed to use works? Do you need to work on the structure of the essay? Do you need to be more careful with your proofreading? Act on these questions to make your writing better the next time round – and particularly use them before you hand in the next one.
